Christmas Out Of The Way

When it comes to sending gifts anywhere the period leading up to Christmas is usually the busiest. At least in western countries or anywhere that they celebrate Christmas and or Hanukkah. We have just survived yet another ‘Pasko’ or Christmas here and it was HECTIC! So many of us seem to have loved ones in the Philippines. Honeyko’s as they are often affectionately called.

Plenty of wonderful gifts came through our hands and I’m proud to say everyone of them was delivered on time to the right person and that is not easy here. Manila is not like many American cities where the streets are in a grid and the numbering is logical and even tells you which block the house will be on. Here the streets are all over the place, parking and access can be a lottery at the best of times and not every house has a number!

Our delivery men are skilled at finding the recipient but the more information we can get with the order the better. Very often the recipient lives in a ‘Bedspacer’, which is like a shared room in a boarding house. Sometimes they work here in Manila but go home to their province for holidays and when we come to deliver their gift they aren’t there.

Now, as we go into a new year, I will try and give some tips to our clients and blog followers so they can enjoy a better chance of their gift getting where it will be most appreciated.

Sige Na!
